The Vipul Shah directed film Namaste England hit screens yesterday. Starring Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra, the film was expected to open on a high note. However, despite the promotions, the film received rather mixed reviews that seem to have affected its opening day collections at the domestic box office.
In this box office report, we take a look at the opening day collections of Namaste England while comparing the same to Arjun Kapoor’s previous releases. Collecting just Rs. 1.9 cr on its opening day, Namaste England ranks as Arjun Kapoor’s lowest opening day grosser. While Arjun’s highest opening day grosser still remains Gunday that had collected Rs. 16.12 cr, Namaste England has failed to surpass the collections of Arjun’s other releases like 2 States that collected Rs. 12.42 cr, Half Girlfriend that collected Rs. 10.27 cr, Ki & Ka that collected Rs. 7.3 cr, Tevar that collected Rs. 7.05 cr, Mubarakan that collected Rs. 5.16 cr, Finding Fanny that collected Rs. 5.10 cr, Ishaqzaade that collected Rs. 4.54 cr, and even Aurangzeb that collected Rs. 3.92 cr.
As of now, since the film enjoys an extended weekend thanks to the festive season of Dusshera, it remains to be seen whether the audience take a liking to the film or not. However, estimates state that Namaste England faces an uphill task at the box office.
