The Anees Bazmee directed film Mubarakan, starring Arjun Kapoor and Anil Kapoor, that released a week ago opened on an average note, however over the weekend the business of the film witnessed good growth with the Sunday collections being almost 100% higher than its opening day collections. If that wasn’t all, post the weekend though collections saw a dip, the film has managed to hold its own.
In this box office report we take a look at the opening week collections of Mubarakan while comparing the same to Arjun Kapoor’s previous releases. Collecting Rs. 35.66 cr Mubarakan that features Arjun Kapoor in a double role ranks as the actor’s fifth highest opening week grosser. In fact the film has managed to surpass Arjun’s previous releases like Tevar that collected Rs. 32.64 cr, Finding Fanny that collected Rs. 28.09 cr, Ishaqzaade that collected Rs. 25.73 cr and Aurangzeb that collected Rs. 19.6 cr.
On the other hand though, the collections of Mubarakan despite its good run at the box office fails to surpass Arjun’s other films like Gunday that collected Rs. 63.08 cr, 2 States that collected Rs. 60.73 cr, Half Girlfriend that collected Rs. 49.19 cr, and Ki & Ka that collected Rs. 37.57 cr.
