It was a good third weekend for JugJugg Jeeyo as over Rs. 5 crores came in. For the last few weeks, so many new Hindi releases are not getting these kind of numbers even in their opening weekend. In fact, the only two Bollywood releases which have managed to get back audiences into theatres are Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and JugJugg Jeeyo. While former has been a blockbuster by a distance, latter is the only other film which has at least earned good footfalls in last so many months when nothing else has actually been working.
This can well be seen from the fact that Rs. 78.48 crores have been gathered by the film and the next best in line is Samrat Prithviraj which closed at Rs. 70 crores. In fact the only other half century was scored by Bachchan Pandey [Rs. 50 crores] and that was back in March, which pretty much tells the take. Hence, if one looks at the state of Bollywood in 2022, JugJugg Jeeyo has at least managed to sail through.
Thankfully, theatre business is not dying down and audiences have been patronizing Hollywood big-ticket films with open arms. Thor: Love and Thunder is a testimony to that as the film has already gathered Rs. 64.80 crores in its extended four-day weekend. The film collected Rs. 18.40 crores more on Sunday and that’s even better than Rs. 18.20 crores start that it had taken on Thursday. The film is a Superhit and in the times when nothing really seems to be working, non-Hindi films are keeping the business going for exhibitors and distributors.
