Akshay Kumar's Jolly LLB 2 got a massive push in collections on Valentine's Day, hence turning out to be mid-week bonanza for all associated with the film. Even though it is not a love story by any distance, audiences didn't mind coming out in big numbers, hence resulting in enhanced footfalls. As good as Rs. 9.07 crore more came in on Tuesday, which is a very good jump compared to Monday [Rs. 7.26 crore]. Typically, even the most successful of films fall by at least 10% during weekdays but in this case there is a jump of over 20%, which is very good.
Now these are indeed bonus numbers for the Subhash Kapoor directed film as now the overall collections stand at Rs. 66.79 crore. After the opening day numbers [Rs. 13.2 crore], these could well have been the collections for the entire Week One. However, very good growth over the weekend, a good hold on Monday and then further escalation on Tuesday have pretty much established that Jolly LLB 2 has caught the fancy of the audiences.
The film will now comfortably go past the Rs. 75 crore mark after the end of first week. The film is en route being declared a Hit and if the momentum continues the way it is currently, Bollywood could well be bracing up for its first Superhit too right at the beginning of the year.
