After a very poor first weekend at the box office, HIT - The First Case has completed crashed during the weekdays. The only time it threw some kind of a fight was on Saturday when the collections grew to some extent after a poor Friday. However, with no real growth coming on Sunday, the writing was clear on the wall for the Rajkummar Rao starrer. It was apparent that the film will go down on Monday but not to the kind of extent, it did when the numbers couldn't even reach Rs. 0.75 crores, an absolute surprise considering Friday itself was at Rs. 1.35 crores.
This is the reason why when collections have further slid on Tuesday, it isn't utterly surprising since in the current times if a film fails, then it fails big time with no respite whatsoever. This wasn't really the case till the pandemic when films at least got a chance to perform as long as they were reasonably well made at least. That's actually the case with this investigative drama that boasts of a good performance by Rajkummar Rao and has an edge of the seat feel to it. Still, it never found any takers to begin with and is now in an impossible situation.
With just Rs. 6.79 crores* in its kitty so far, the film has a couple of days more to perform but that's about it. That would make it a one week show as Shamshera arrives this Friday and not that it would open bumper either, but at least fetch as much attention from the audiences that no other film would be in sight. Unfortunate, but HIT - The First Case has emerged as a flop.
*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
