Golmaal Again had a fantastic Week Two as it brought in around Rs. 47 crore at the Box Office. This is excellent since these numbers are still better than the first week collections of at least 50 notable releases of 2017. In fact if one compares its second week with the best collecting Hindi releases of 2017 in their first week, Golmaal Again finds itself at the 12th spot:
Golmaal Again – Rs. 136.08 crore [Week 1]
Raees – Rs. 109.01 crore [Week 1]
Tubelight – Rs. 106.86 crore [Week 1]
Judwaa 2 – Rs. 98.08 crore [Week 1]
Toilet - Ek Prem Katha – Rs. 96.05 crore [Week 1]
Kaabil – Rs. 79.60 crore [Week 1]
Jolly LLB 2 – Rs. 77.71 crore [Week 1]
Badrinath Ki Dulhania – Rs. 73.66 crore [Week 1]
Baadshaho – Rs. 64.14 crore [Week 1]
Jab Harry Met Sejal – Rs. 59.65 crore [Week 1]
Half Girlfriend – Rs. 49.19 crore [Week 1]
Golmaal Again – Rs. 46.85 crore [Week 2]
This pretty much demonstrates the kind of hold this Rohit Shetty directed film has enjoyed even after a massive Diwali weekend. In fact there is no other Hindi release of 2017 that has managed such huge collections in its second week and this is where Golmaal Again sits right at the top. There are only two films that could challenge this record before the close of year - Padmavati and Tiger Zinda Hai, and it has to be seen how much further do they manage to go post their release.
As for the Ajay Devgn flick, it currently stands at Rs. 182.92 crore and unless there is a dramatic drop in numbers in the third week (which seems unlikely), a Rs. 200 crore total is pretty much for the taking.
