All associated with Gadar 2 can get ready to pop the champagne tonight. The all-time blockbuster is all set to be just the second Bollywood film to enter the Rs. 400 Crore Club. That has been made possible by a fantastic second Monday that has seen Rs. 13.50 crores more added to its total. This is a huge number indeed since in 2023, the only films to manage an opening day bigger than this have been Pathaan, Adipurush, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar and Gadar 2 itself, and now the Anil Sharma directed film has brought this much on its 11th day.
The film currently stands at Rs. 388.60 crores and is now little over Rs. 10 crores away from hitting the Rs. 400 crores mark, something that will happen by tonight itself. While one waits for that to happen, there is another major reason for the film to celebrate. It has now also gone past the lifetime score of Aamir Khan’s Dangal which had netted Rs. 387.38 crores. The 2016 release is now the third biggest Bollywood grosser after Pathaan and Gadar 2, and it would be a closely fought battle between these two films now.
As for Akshay Kumar-led OMG 2, the film is now moving up the charts for Akshay Kumar’s biggest grossers. On Monday, the film collected Rs. 4 crores* more and that’s again a good hold compared to Rs. 6.03 crores that it had accumulated on Friday. With this, the Amit Rai directed social film has netted Rs. 117.67 crores* and gone past the lifetime score of Jolly LLB 2 (Rs. 117 crores) and Housefull 2 (Rs.116 crores) as well and will now be aiming for Rustom (Rs. 128 crores) next. It should reach there by Friday. Hit.
