Force 2 has seen a slow beginning at the Box Office. One didn’t expect it to set the screens on fire on the opening day itself, considering the fact that the promos gave an impression of a ‘single screen friendly’ affair, and it is in these very segments that demonetization has hit ‘aam junta’ hardest. One can attribute the loss of at least 30%-40% business on Day One due to this very factor. That said, looking at the final product, the film actually has something to offer to the multiplex audience and hence few major cities did see good occupancy by the time evening shows commenced.
With Rs. 6.05 crore coming on the opening day, this is how the film has fared when compared to other action flicks released in 2016:
Baaghi – Rs. 11.94 crore
Shivaay – Rs. 10.24 crore
Ghayal Once Again – Rs. 7.2 crore
A Flying Jatt – Rs. 7.1 crore (on select screens with Paid Previews)
Rocky Handsome – Rs. 5.39 crore (led by John Abraham)
Akira – Rs. 5.15 crore
Force 2 – Rs. 6.05 crore
On a fair day opening with no external factors hitting it hard, the John Abraham starrer could have come close to the collections of Ghayal Once Again, which would have been a decent beginning for the film.
The action flick needs some good jumps today and tomorrow in order to register some reasonable numbers so that weekdays stay on to be stable.
