The Aamir Khan starrer Dangal released just over a week ago. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film has been one of the most talked about releases this year. Based on the life of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, Dangal that hit 5300 screens worldwide has been doing brisk business.
In this box office report we take a look at the worldwide collections of Dangal while comparing them to previously released films. Collecting Rs. 424 cr. gross worldwide, Dangal becomes the sixth highest grosser. In fact the film manages to surpass the collections of Aamir Khan’s previous release 3 Idiots that had collected Rs. 400 cr gross.
However, Dangal that still continues to run in theatres is yet to surpass collections of previous releases like P.K that collected Rs. 769 cr, Bajrangi Bhaijaan that collected Rs. 629 cr, Dhoom 3 that collected Rs. 585 cr, Sultan that collected Rs. 572 cr, and Chennai Express that collected Rs. 425 cr.
