On its third Monday, Dangal collected Rs. 4.35 crore more. With this, the collections have now reached Rs. 349.65 crore. The fall from Friday [Rs. 6.66 crore] has been controlled and with this it is pretty much on the cards that rest of the weekdays would maintain good hold too. It is a given that Rs. 360 crore would be crossed by the film in three weeks, which actually gives it an average of Rs. 120 crore per week, a remarkable feat.
The Aamir Khan starrer has benefitted from an open run for three weeks flat and that has been truly deserving too, considering the kind of merits that it carried. While it did go tax-free in certain states, the results would have been even more pleasing had the entire country followed suit.
Nonetheless, it would be interesting to see how the fourth weekend would go for the film once OK Jaanu arrives as well. 2016 has ended on a brilliant note with 2017 reaping the benefits of it in its first fortnight. It is now up to the newer releases to take forward the baton. Rest assured, some good numbers are on the cards in days to come as well with Raees and Kaabil coming together on the Republic Day weekend. That would keep the footfalls going, followed by Jolly LLB 2 and hopefully, 'achche din' would continue for many more days, weeks and months to come.
