The Ranveer Singh – Vaani Kapoor starrer Befikre that marks the return of Aditya Chopra to direction after a gap of eight years released last week on Friday. Though the film which received mixed reviews from the critics, it has been well received by the Indian audience.
In this box office analysis we take a look at the Opening Weekend collections of Befikre while comparing them to the opening day collections of previously released films of 2016. Collecting Rs. 34.36 cr, Befikre becomes the tenth highest opening weekend grosser of 2016. The film does not surpass previous releases like Sultan that collected Rs. 180.36 cr, M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story that collected Rs. 66 cr, Housefull 3 that collected Rs. 53.31 cr, Fan that collected Rs. 52.35 cr, Rustom that collected Rs. 50.42 cr, Airlift that collected Rs. 44.3 cr, Baaghi that collected Rs. 38.58 cr, Dishoom that collected Rs. 37.32 cr and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil that collected Rs. 35.6 cr.
However, Befikre does manage to surpass the collections of other releases like Udta Punjab that collected Rs. 33.8 cr and Dear Zindagi that collected Rs. 32.5 cr.
