Badrinath Ki Dulhania enjoyed a good second week for itself as it brought in Rs. 7.45 crore on Sunday. It was practically the only film in the running to find any sort of traction, what with its numbers turning out to be more than four times that of all the other Hindi films in the running. This is a clear indication of how not just the new releases have been royally ignored but also the fact that the Karan Johar production has been accepted in a big way by the audiences.
The film currently stands at Rs. 91.22 crore and that is a huge number for it to gain in 10 days flat. With practically zero competition now in the weekdays too (since one can't expect the newer releases to see any miraculous turnaround now), the Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt starrer is on a home run currently and would continue to fetch in moolah.
While the Shashank Khaitan directed film is now set to cross the Rs. 100 crore mark this week itself, it would be interesting to see if the 2 States lifetime of Rs. 102 crore is surpassed too before it steps into the third week. That film too was a Karan Johar production with Alia Bhatt in the lead and it would indeed be a moment to rejoice for all in case this frontier is crossed as well in such quick time.
Superhit!
