Jolly LLB 2 has entered the Rs. 100 Crore Club. On Tuesday, it gathered Rs. 2.45 crore more and with this the collections have now touched Rs. 100.37 crore. The film has managed to achieve this feat in 12 days. The Subhash Kapoor directed flick was safe within the opening weekend itself and by the time the first week was through, it was a Hit in the making. Currently it is in the profit making mode and the numbers that are trickling in are adding up to the profits that Fox Star Studios and Akshay Kumar are making now.
For the superstar, this is his fourth straight century, a record that has been scored by only Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan in the past. What makes it remarkable though is that Akshay Kumar is doing that at a rapid pace, what with it being achieved in a span of 13 months [Airlift, Housefull 3, Rustom and now Jolly LLB 2]. With this, director Subhash Kapoor has entered the elite club as well while Huma Qureshi is the latest entrant amongst the leading ladies to achieve this feat.
The other film in the running is The Ghazi Attack. The film’s start was slow but the progress made over rest of the weekend had given good indications that it would hold on well during the weekdays. This is what’s happening as Rs. 1.35 crore* more came in on Tuesday. The Rana Daggubati starrer currently stands at Rs. 9.60 crore* for the Hindi version and these are fair numbers, as long as the momentum stays for rest of the weekdays as well, and subsequently there are good shows retained in the coming week too.
*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
