Yet another record has been created by Mission Mangal. The film is now amongst the Top-3 openers when it comes to the first three days collections. It has collected Rs. 70.02 crores at the box office between Thursday-Saturday and that is just after Bharat and Kabir Singh. While former was an Eid release, latter turned it to be an unexpected rage, especially after release.
The film has managed to score well over far more commercial film Total Dhamaal and Akshay Kumar’s own Kesari. This is where Mission Mangal finds itself in the Top-10 list when it comes to the numbers accumulated during the first three days of release:
Bharat – Rs. 95.50 crores (holiday)
Kabir Singh – Rs. 70.83 crores (regular Friday)
Mission Mangal – Rs. 70.02 crores (holiday)
Total Dhamaal – Rs. 62.40 crores (regular Friday)
Kesari – Rs. 56.56 crores (partial holiday)
Gully Boy – Rs. 51.15 crores (event release)
Super 30 – Rs. 50.76 crores (regular release)
Kalank – Rs. 44.65 crores (partial holiday)
Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi – Rs. 42.55 crores (regular Friday)
Student of the Year 2 – Rs. 38.83 crores (regular Friday)
The situation would be remarkably different though when it would come to the best collections for a film when one looks at first four days. The film would march much ahead of Kabir Singh here as the Shahid Kapoor starrer had Monday to contend with on its fourth day whereas Akshay Kumar has his biggest day awaiting him on Sunday. That would take the Jagan Shakti directed film to a different level altogether and all eyes would be on its sustenance during the weekdays that would decide where does it find itself amongst the best first week runners of 2019.
