The BIG day is finally arriving today. Three months after the release of Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva, there is finally a Bollywood film that’s going to be celebrated in a big way across the country. While south release Kantara kept audiences engaged intermittently across the country and had a huge haul, from Bollywood it’s Drishyam 2 that has done the unthinkable and would now be bringing in a double century haul.
So far, the film has collected 198.92 crores and while one would have expected the 200 crores mark at the close of third week itself, it has just been pushed ahead by a couple of days with today turning out to be the D-day. The film continued well into the fourth week with Rs 2.62 crores coming on Friday and with numbers set to be in the upwards of Rs 4 crores today, it would be time for yet another entry of the year into the 200 crore club.
So far, in 2022, only two Hindi films - Brahmastra and The Kashmir Files - have managed this feat. From south, it’s KGF: Chapter 2 and RRR, which have run this magic in the Hindi version. Though Drishyam 2 won’t quite be challenging any of these films when it comes to the lifetime haul, for the Hindi version of Brahmastra there would be some bit of competition that one could see coming.
