As expected, Border 2 saw very good growth on Saturday as Rs. 20.17 crores came in. On Friday, the film had collected Rs. 12.53 crores, so this is excellent jump, which was expected as well since the collections had stabilised between Wednesday to Saturday already, and hence Saturday growth was round the corner.

Yes, at one point in time it had seemed that Rs. 20 crores+ on Saturday and Sunday would be cakewalk, especially the manner in which the film had gone bonkers, especially on Republic Day holiday (Rs. 63.59 crores), post which Tuesday hold was good as well (Rs. 23.31 crores). However, once Friday collections came to just over Rs. 12 crores mark, it was all about getting into a good zone and then aim for that last shot at Rs. 20 crores+ mark on Saturday and Sunday.
Since this Sunny Deol led ensemble affair is a mass film, there is Sunday growth on the cards and even 10% rise in footfalls will ensure that with Rs. 277.67 crores already in, an entry into the 300 Crore Club happens in 10 days flat. Though primarily of academic interest, this would just make for better optics and from there onwards the film’s journey towards Rs. 375 crores+ milestone would begin.
