The much talked about and keenly anticipated release Animal hit screens last week on Friday to a thunderous response from the audience. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga the film which also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Rashmika Mandanna, came with immense hype and expectations attached. Living up to the same Animal which has received positive responses from the audience and critics alike has been raking in the moolah each day. After opening with a bang, the business of Animal fast crossed the Rs. 100 cr mark over its opening weekend, managing to cross the Rs. 200 cr mark as well by the start of its first week. Now, nearing the end of its first week in theatres, Animal has managed to cross the Rs. 300 cr mark at the domestic box office.
In this box office report, we look at the business of the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal while comparing the same to previous releases that have made it past the Rs. 300 cr mark in record time. Collecting a staggering Rs. 314.50 cr in just six days of its release, Animal has now emerged as the second fastest Rs. 300 cr grosser managing to achieve this feat within just six days of its release. Interestingly, while the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan managed to cross the Rs. 300 cr mark in just 5 days, retains the top slot, Animal shares its second-place position with Pathaan which took six days to cross the Rs. 300 cr mark.
On the other hand, Animal that has seen collections pouring in, has manage to surpass previous releases like Gadar 2 that took 8 days, Baahubali 2 that took 10 days, and KGF 2 that took 11 days each to cross the Rs. 300 cr mark.
Currently, Animal continues to run with audience thronging theatres, given this trend trade estimates state that the business of Animal will certainly see a jump in collections over its second weekend. In fact, all eyes are now watching to see if the business of Animal manages to make it past the Rs. 400 cr mark by the end of its second weekend running.
