83 is continuing to be very low at the box office and soon the daily numbers could well go below the Rs. 1 crore mark. In fact it may as well happen today since Wednesday numbers were Rs. 1.12 crores and more and more states have started putting curbs on show timings or worse, even complete shutdown.
Things have gone downhill quite soon in very quick time, both for the movie in particular as well as the cinema situation on the country. Till just about 20-25 days back we had Spider-Man: No Way Home and Pushpa taking record starts across the country and now neither the films are working nor is the situation around the pandemic.
It is indeed a sad state of affairs since 83 has managed only Rs. 95.92 crores so far. That said, the makers have announced that they would stay in theatres (government permitting) for full eight weeks before arriving on OTT. Since the film was released two weeks back, patrons would need to wait for six more weeks before watching the Ranveer Singh starrer on the small screen.
