Sunday was a good day at the box office, with the Ranveer Singh starrer 83 and the previously released Hollywood entertainer Spider-Man: No Way Home holding the fort. Keeping the audience engaged over the Christmas weekend both films did well. However, in the case of 83, the box office collections have not really lived up to expectations.
Collecting Rs. 17.41 cr on Sunday Day 3, combined with its Friday collection of Rs. 12.64 cr and Saturday collections of Rs. 16.95 cr, the total business of 83 over its opening weekend stands at Rs. 47 cr. Though just shy of Rs. 50 cr, the box office performance of 83 has not really lived up to the expectations and hype surrounding the film. What happens from tomorrow onwards is unforeseen but at least footfalls over the weekend have been far better than before and that’s worthy enough to be celebrated.
Today is going to be a crucial day as ideally, the collections for both the movies shouldn’t fall below 30% mark when compared to Friday. Since the festive season is on, one hopes that turns out to be the case.
