The Amitabh Bachchan – Rishi Kapoor starrer 102 Not Out released a while back. Directed by Umesh Shukla the film has been doing well at the box office. However, now in its second week running the collections of 102 Not Out have taken a dip essentially raising question whether the business of the film will reach the Rs. 50 cr mark. But despite this we hear that the makers of the film are pretty happy about its performance. To gain a better understanding of the same in this special report we take a look at the economics of 102 Not Out to understand how profitable it was for its makers.
Made on a budget of Rs. 34 cr that includes both Cost of Production and Print & Publicity, the film is expected to earn approximately Rs. 50 cr at the box office by the end of it theatrical run. From this the makers of 102 Not Out stand to make Rs. 25 cr. as the distributor share, which coupled with the distributor share of Rs. 7.20 cr from the overseas market and Rs. 28 cr from the satellite and digital rights sale, the maker will approximately walk away with Rs. 52.20 cr.
Now given the budget of the film the final tally of profit the makers of 102 Not Out will be left with at the end of the run is a surprising Rs. 26.20 cr with a 77.06% of Return on Investment (RoI).
