This is an extremely overrated movie. It is not an indian movie. The story is predictable. The music is average. The preformances poor.Dev patel is useless. Anil kapoor goes over the top. Pinto needs acting lessons. Irfan and Shukla are wasted . Mahesh manjrekar is fine. The movie is a waste of time.

This movie is just an average fare.It does not deserve an Oscar. This movie got Oscars only because the Producer & Director are Britishers.LAGAAN didnt got Oscar because it was a complete Bollywood movie & in that movie,Indians won the cricket match against the Britishers.Music was also average only.A.R Rehman has composed many great songs than these movie songs.Anil Kapoor was worst.Dev Patel & Freida Pinto were awesome. This movie got Oscars because India's negative side was shown & Britishers like it.

This movie was fantastic and if someone says they didnt like the movie it might be because they didnt understand the movie or they don't have the guts to see the reality that is shown in this movie. The storyline and the screenplay were the best part of the movie. This movie is alwasy so moving. It alwasy keeps you at the edege of your seat. The story is really inspireing. The acting was a big plus. The kids acted so well. A.R Rahman's music was just a cheery on the cake.

One interesting point to note is that while Slumdog Millionaire has been nominated for as many as 10 Oscars, movies like 'BLACK' and 'TAARE ZAMEEB PAR', a sensitive ‘Bollywood’ film dealing with a middle-class, dyslexic child’s struggle to cope with this competition, and widely toasted as the best mainstream offering from the Hindi film Industry in a long while, didn’t receive a single nomination in the Best Foreign Language Category at the Academy Awards. Is it just me here, or is there a certain prejudice towards only one particular ‘reality’ of India, and ignorance towards other equally harsh realities, or is it because the director is a white westerner? Let me clarify here that while it may seem so, I’ve nothing against the film – I found it to be entertaining and quite worth a watch. Neither do I have anything against the subject or the depiction of life in Mumbai – in fact, I would have found it more memorable had it given some more screen time to the dark undercurrents of the Mumbai underbelly, which were easily the most believable and fascinating parts of the film, greatly assisted by a rousing score from A. R. Rehman. My only grouse is with the perception that the Indians have some kind of a sinister agenda to not allow this film to succeed, because we don’t – as the film highlights rather well at the end of the day, it’s just a way of life out here, so why the hype? After seeing Boyle's much talked-about film, it's crystal clear why this murky and squalid portrait of Mumbai has the Americans preening in delight. At one point after being thrashed mercilessly for impersonating as a guide, our hero Jamal tells a couple of American tourists, "You wanted to see real India? Here it is", in reply to which the American lady promptly replies, "Now we'll show you the real America," and hands Jamal a $100 bill. This, without any apparent sense of irony.

Some movies become hits for no apparent reason. Some even make it to the oscars.Consider the south indian movie" Jeans" which became india;s official entry to the oscars, what was so unique about that movie????? Maybe nothing. In my opinion, there was nothing extra ordinary in the the film, iyts just that many people liked it and its a block buster now.Stop calling it a classic.Im not opposing the film, nor am i stopping anyone from watching it,but stop describing it as something it is apparently not,.

A wonderful film showing a young man's pursuit of love with a drop of realism throughout the sequences of his life. The script was ok but the direction was the aspect of the film that brung it to life. Its a subject Indian films would not dare to touch so it comes into form as a British film. A MUST-SEE.
