Indiafm.com or bollywoodhungama.com is the most robust and brutally DIShonest movie review site. They will have to fire Taran Adarsh ASAP, because he is a bullshiter. Let me quicky talk about Sarkar Raj, Its a huge disappointment. The second half completely sucks. I wasted around 20 $ for this low paced movie that has got literally nuthing. VERY IMPORTANT THING: I am very convinced critic TARAN ADARSH is being paid because his opinion of a movie helped the public decide if it was worth seeing or skipping or waiting for dvd. If critics pan movies that the general public wants to see then are they doing their job? Is the job of a critic merely to state their opinion or to provide a useful service to the public, I don't know kinda like most other people's jobs. I agree that critics don't need to quit their jobs but I think it's obvious we need more voices in the field to provide a more balanced view. But Taran Adarsh truly represents modern India where 60 % of the high post professionals whose decisions and views count' are bribed(according to the survey by CNN). Just have a look at how taran adarsh rates cheap comedy movies 4/5 ? whats the criteria Mister taran ? You are being paid gigantic amount to rate sarkar raj 4 ! I love almost everythin about Indiafm but taran adarsh, may be they should try to hire Rajeev masand or any other good critics who are blunt and honest. I would lile to thank Indiafm for maintaining a goodwebsite, but plz get rid of Taran adarsh asap.

Sequels are no longer hot! All we gotta see in the near future is the regeneration of the caricatures of so called Legendary characters. Bourne Series,Bond Series is fine but to bear Uday Chopra trying to be the Cool Dudeand Abhishek trying to take thrown from his dad in one movie - tough to see. So here comes another movie from RGV.Gone are his Factory days where he threw film by film on us,he is now a lone chap with a burden on him to proove his mettle at Box-Office which he is not used to. Excepting a few films his films have bombed at Box-Office and post AAG his brand has got new high. About: Before watching the movie the audience are supposed to assume that Shankar Nagre(Abhishek Bachan) is the new Sarkar of Mumbai.RGV begins his movie brilliantly by projecting Shankar Nagre as the new Raj,makes the old Sarkar to utter great lines about his son.Shankar has married Tanisha(his cousin) and everything goes smoothly. Entrance of Aishwarya Rai: Ash plans to setup a Power Plant in India worth 2 lakh crores and she needs the help of Nagre Family. Passive Amitabh: Subhash Nagre rejects the idea of power plant which causes people from 5 villages to suffer. New Power - Abhishek: Shankar Nagre feels that the plant will be helpful for Maharashtra and compares it with Door ka Fayda with Villager's loos - Nasdeek ka Nuksan. Obstacles: 1. The plant which is supposed to be set in a village gets its first obstacle from village's head Grandson who campaigns against the powerplant. 2. Shayaji Shinde who missed the C.M chair waits for an occasion to get his due Power. 3. Vora - who wishes the plant be setup in Gujarat. 4. Others The rest of story is about whether the Plant which both Aishwarya and Abhishek consider as their dream project finalises or not. Analysis: RGV tried to master himself in this movie. His technique of improvising the screenplay with his technical department(read as Music and DoP) has backfired this time because it appeared routine this time. The music which elevates Abhishek Bachan in the movie did not work here and it appeared pretty mediocre stuff. RGV relying highly upon technical departments played a safe game here by not much exploring the characters. The way Senior Sarkar was made passive and accepting all decisions taken by Abhishek appear ridiculous. Abhishek's character is not properly etched as he always mentions 1. Power Plant is his dream project with no solid reasoning. 2. His relationship with Aishwarya(gash everything ruins with one bad scene by RGV). 3. His amateur decisions like not believing his men, objecting to move the plant to Gujarat. The movie falls flat primarily because of Abhishek Bachan. He could have covered his weak characterisation with a stellar performance but Small B still remains a baby in acting. His looks are routine and appear monotonous even after listening that his wife is pregnant. Aishwarya is a big let down. She is not glamorous and half of the time she is not aware of what's happening even though conspiracy is made behind her Plant. Her intentions towards Abhishek are not properly written(RGV hates love,he is more matured and thought that audience ko sab samaj me ajeyaga). Her reaction when her father is dead is one of the weakest scenes in the movie. Negative Points: 1. RGV's pretty old screenplay. 2. Abhishek Bacchan not living upto the grandeur image of his father. 3. Aishwarya 4. Routine techincal stuff - It was like they followed the same Sarkar-1 technique and audience got bored of those chants, odd angles, etc. Highlights: 1. Amitabh Bacchan- It is clearly Big B who lived upto his reputation. His acting is flawless and his action in climax is first rate. 2. Climax - The way the story ended with a twist was good. 3. Govinda Govinda Final Word: There is nothing like average movie,it gotta be either good or bad.Sarkar Raj cannot be called as a good cinema as it could have been a whole better cinema had the maker etched characters properly and not mere puppets in his heavy music drama. P.S : Leave the hall before 5 minutes coz u have to see the scene which shows the next Sarkar. @RGV: RGV has gone on record and said 2 points: 1. Abhishek does not die in the movie and I donno why people are spreading rumours. 2. There is no love between Abhishek and Aishwarya and Ash's character could be played by another man.

Here's the review: Plot : The film starts with the celebration of Sarkar (Big B) ‘s 60th birth anniversary. Shankar (Abhishek) is going to take the power from his father very soon. Anita (Ash) is a London returned business woman who returns with her father (Victor) and decides to set a power plant in the rural maharastra. This is not easy for her ‘coz she has to convince Sarkar (Big B) to make it out. So she goes to sarkar but he doesn’t show any interest in it ‘coz he thinks it may hamper the life of 40,000 families. So he refuses. On the other hand Shankar is so convinced with the proposal that he decides immediately to go further with the proposal that has been placed by Anita . Shankar goes for a journey to rural india along with Anita to make rural people agree to do it but soon it becomes not a social but political issue. A leader who resembles Raj Thakray in the film tries to stop Shankar by creating people’s attention through his provocative speeches. There is violence over there and other suspense’s as well. Performances: Abhishek Bachchan : The film belongs to him . He is the soul of the film. I won’t say it’s his best but he has done a great job here. He as Shankar looks exactly what the character demands and has given outstanding performance. I m now a fan of Abhishek after watching the film . I would give him 4.5 / 5 for his intense performance. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan : She is good in the film ( not great as I expected earlier), There is hardly any dialogue for her ,all she has done is giving expressions by using her eyes. I wonder, why there was so much written about her role which was supposed to be one of the main attraction in the but the fact is that there is hardly anything to go gaga over her role though she has given a good and mature performance in the film. The only thing Anita does in the film is walking behind Shankar through out the journey. I think her role in JA is far better that this one. I m disappointed with her confusing character in the film. Being an ‘Ash fan’, it’s hard to write these things. I would give her 3 / 5 (only for her expressions). Amitabh Bachchan : I have said earlier that the film belongs to Abhishek , so here Amitabh is being shown as second fiddle to Abhishek ! We know already that a legend like him doesn’t need a character but the character needs him. Here the case is same. He is great as well. Though the limelight is not at him, its at Abhishek , he does make you feel like there is not one hero in the film but two. I would give him 3.5 / 5 Direction: RGV is back. I think I should limit my comment on him by using only these three words ! Rating : 4 /5 The film : It’s a very good film with some memorable performances. Its not as dark as I thought before. The main thing is that you can enjoy your time while watching the film. Its not boring at all. Go and watch it .If you want to enjoy a well made film, it is for you and if you are a Bachchans fan than it is strongly recommended for you. My rating for the movie is 4 out of 5

lets start with this.. being in uk i am lucky enough to see the movie a day before usually all the otha people a know.. i was waiting eagerly for this one because sarkar was one of my favourite movies.. Now people thinking that sarkar was adopted a bit from godfather thus.. sarkar raj will be something like godfather 2.. But you will be surprised to see that it is not. coming to the movie now, RGV was having bad days with his career since rgv ke sholay where everyone just bombed at his work.. and said that he is not the same RGV anymore, but i think that RGV has got his oomphh back and thus has delivered what he did with COMPANY and Satya and Sarkar ofcourse. The movie is simply outstanding with topnotch performances. story based on ash bringing a power plant building project and the political impact of this project on maharashtra, which effects sarkar's empire. the rest is not to reveal.... but you should go in to look for a lot of surprises,, as this movie is going to shake you after an hour, like a thunderbolt

RVG is back. Not with a bang, but atleast with his style of film making. Sarkar Raj works coz of Big B & Abhi. The film moves away from politics towards building a power plant in rural Maharashtra. Nevertheless, politics is still the underlying game here. There are new characters and the film moves ahead from where Sarkar had left us. This time Sarkar's son [Abhi] taking over. The supporting cast is perfectly casted. However, for me the biggest disappointment was Ash. RVG had said that she would be the suprise in the film. Alas, she isnt. You think that the element of Ash would bring the unexpected twist in the film. But thats not the case here [till the last scene] She has to emote through her eyes and that she does well. Wish the role was better. Abhi takes over the film from the start, and Big B comes back with a bang towards the climax. The climax has the needed element of suprise, however, it tends to drag. If the execution would be tighter, the film would definately be crispier. On the whole, Sarkar Raj is worth a dekho. If Sarkar was your cup of tea, then Sarkar Raj is your cutting chai!
