People who are saying Saawariya was a bad movie and don't go watch it are the ones who are into the popularity race between SLB and Shahrukh khan. But its not a race between Khan or Bhansali. if you wanna compare then do it with sanjay with farah. It's a very good movie. OSO isn't bad either. but there are movies of two different genre. OSO no brainer, full of fun. saawariya on the other hand emotional and touchy. ranbir hands down best debutent after Hritik. ONE REQUEST TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHRITING REVIEWS. JUST TO MAKE OSO BETTER DON'T JUST WRITE BAD REVIEWS TO SAAWARIYA. OSO IS A GOOD FUN MOVIE WITHOUT PUTTING DOWN SAAWARIYA. And about Mr Taran Adarsh...i don't wanna make any comment on ur review, u know a lot more about films than i will ever know. but on ur review u put down some questions and one of the is why did rani shuts the door on ranbit when he comes to talk to her. Honestly sir did u really not understand it ?

Look guys if you are in mood for have blast in this Diwali, I would recomened you to not to watch Sawariya. But if you want to see a good movie buy a ticket and then go watch it. I know that a lot of crtitics have said a lot about the film. But can't you people think it as fantasy. When your garndmas tell you stories of different people from different countries in hindi do u say in whinch part of the world else then india people talk in hindi. Even when you read Arabian Nights why don't you ask the author that where can you find a magic carpet/ a gini. So I don't know why you people are askin SLB that in which part of world it is that dark, where people speak in that many language and why can't man fall in love with a stranger. I know it's a dark film but it is just the way SLB wanted to present it. He wanted to make it just a simple love story rather than a film full of dance, loud heavy music, action, romance, emotion and make it a khidchi. The beauty of Sawariya lies on its simplicity. So personally I don't feel that Sawariya fails on it's subject, exicution of subjenc, screenplay, presentation, art direction, music or in acting department. But it surely fails on the pre-publicity of the film and also the release time. For the last one mont everywhere it was like that in this diwali there was just single movie called OSO. SLB and Sony pictures forget to use the stardom of Salman Khan and Rani Mukherji. Even we couldn't see Rani in any trailer. Salman also didn't come forward to publicise the film. Ranbir and Sonam were just seen in sony entaertainment television. And also there was no suprises that was promised for viewers in the film trrough those trailers. And man for godsake it's Diwali, people would generally want to have some fun rather than go and watch a simple dark love story. So Really sorry SLB your product was good but everythind else made it a failure.

I love Saawariya simply because it breaks my heart. As some have said its a dream, i agree it is a dream; a dream we all WANT to dream but never admit that we do. just like some who dont like the movie. its a story of first love. its different because its real; its a fact. it reminds us all of the first love, that we didnt get... and so it breaks our hearts. so its sad but its a ture. face it this movie is the epitome of the ancient era of true love and it can only be truely understood by those who still have some respect for classicalism that can never be found in todays world. you should actually read the actual short story that this movie is based on. "White nights" by Dostovsky Fyodor.

Firstly, I am really surprised at the way Taran Adarsh reviewed OSO and Saawariya. I watched both and I must say Saawariya was far better. The objections/questions raised in his review were bizarre. It was well-known that the movie is set in an imaginary town. It is a beautiful story about a boy who meets a girl in a very strange way and in a very strange town. And I must add that I mean strange in a good way. Ranbir's acting was excellent and Sonam looked beautiful and acted well. Salman Khan did his part the best way he could even though I think they could have developed his relationship with Sonam a little bit more. Infact, in my opinion, this is the weakest point of the story. It felt like she saw him, thought he was cute, slept with him and fell in love and stayed loyal for a year without any contact from him. Its like waiting for a stranger but well we all know women so even though it sounded a little stupid, it is not something we never see in real life. In short, despite the fact that it is set in an abstract town, I think the story is very real and people can relate to it. Also, I think Ranbir's first scene with the old lady could have been done more effectively and a lot of songs should have been cut, except for "Masha Allah" and "Saawariya". I don't understand why every bollywood movie NEEDS to have tonnes of songs with people dancing out of nowhere!

Artistic, beautiful, mesmerizing, and touching. Watching this movie is like watching a beautiful painting sets on a huge canvas. Welcome to the world of Saawaariya "Khabon ka sheher (the city of dreams)" This is not just a movie but a visual treat that touches your heart and soul, an experience of a life time something that never seen in bollywood before.A modern classic for sure. Hands down to Sanjay Leela Bhansali for creating this piece of art. The whole movie is sets on a huge stage, a stage of beautiful dreamy city. The whole city is a masterpiece, blue and white paintings on wall, stony roads, dim green lights, bridges, clock tower, gray buildings, everything is a piece of art. even the small details like carving on doors, beautiful artistry on staircases, glass bottles in a shop's window!! that only comes for a second is taken care of. something that you can only expect from Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He is a true genius. An artist who loves his work and it shows in every single frame of the movie. As for the critiques, Yes there is not a single ray of sunshine, or a clear sky in the whole movie, Yes it look like watching a 2-hour play because its meant to be this way!!! hello people cant you see the story is narrated in a style of a play sets on a huge artistic set. may be some people just not clever enough to understand this fairytale which is ahead of it times. Agreed the mood and ambiance is dark here but its not depressing instead its the dreamy the surreal feel of the movie. Now im going to answer very critic oneby one: IFM: * Which part of the country is this straight-out-of-a-fairytale town located? And what era are we talking of? A: Why its so important to locate it on a map?? This is a fairytales and every fairytales starts with..."long long time ago, in a far far away place..." may be its hard to digust for typical masala movie lovers! IFM: * Even if you subscribe to the theory that it was love at first sight for Salman and Sonam, what is it that keeps their romance going? A: Have you ever heard about innocence, true love, and faith ? IFM: * Why does Salman disappear suddenly? A: Its very easy to add at least 1000 good and valid excuses for his disappearance But its sets in a style of play. unnecessary details are not required, here the simplicity of the story is the beauty of the movie. IFM: * Why does Rani Mukerji abandon Ranbir, when he comes knocking on her doors and admits that he wants to spend time with her? Why does she lose her temper, although she secretly loves him? A: Because she really loves him, and she has a heart of gold. How can you even think to expect her to sleep with some one as true and pure as ranbir? this is an innocent love story not a sexapade ride like every other movie!. IFM * And Salman returns. The sequence that follows and the culmination to the story leave you completely disgruntled and perplexed! A: whos says love is always about getting something in return? it about giving. its not always about falling in love, bur "RISE IN LOVE" Experience while watching SAAWARIYA is not sorrow but innocence, feelings of falling in love for the first time. Story of the movie is about an innocent love which touches your heart and stays with you even after the movie ends, and will going to stay with you for a long long time.
