It is such a shame that movie critics like Taran Adarsh can make a harsh judgement on a work of art like 'Saawariya' and yet he was in praises for a movie like 'Aap Ka Suroor'. What I can't understand is.............when someone tries to make a truly hatke film like Saawariya..........it gets bad press! I am truly baffled! Saawariya is a masterpiece by a maestro. From titles to the end credits, it is no less than a genius's best work to date. The way this art work has been presented , the lighting, music, actors..............surely, must be well savoured. films like Saawariya come few and far between. We should cherish the work of a master.

Firstly we should establish the type of cinema that Bansali represents - it is about beauty, magic, love and at times pain! With that mindset, you should walk into a cinema expecting beautiful sets, some amazing use of colour both in costumes and camera work, you should expect a fairy tale which knows no time or place. And of course the characters are larger than life. I think where the film failed was it's marketing, it should have focused on the concept of Sawaariya, which about a dreamer who loves without any expectations! That's the expectation the audience should have. Let's move onto the film, which I thought was impressive! To follow up Devdas with a Sawaariya, for me hits the mark. Focus on the positives, from the outset the narration given is that this is a world you won't find! It is a world where a charming man enters with the hope of providing happiness! And boy does Ranbir Kapoor do this, and with flare and precision that you would expect from Bansali's team. I think he was brillant and whatever happens to Sawaariya, he should look at this film as probably the most important pass from a very hard exam. He had some difficult, no very difficult scenes and he does this with honesty. He reminded me of Hrithik Roshan before stardom hit me! As for Sonam Kapoor, let's not state the girl. She has the talent and the beauty but her character is not explored much in the film. Rani Mukherji deserves an award, what a performance and how beautiful did she look! Only she could give honesty to a prostitute's character. Technical the film is extremely competent, the detail given to every should not be ignored and remember the film is more a poem than a love story.

First of all I would like to say that Taran Adarsh should stop giving biased reviews..He should stop diverting people from watching good movies just to get into good books of the well established people of bollywood..I think you can describe "Sawaariya" as one of the best ever made "Fairy Tale" stories on the screen..It excels in all fields including acting, directing, story telling, songs and on top of all the sets..The set is like dreamland..Specially the scene where Sonam and Ranbir will meet for the first time on the bridge is so perfectly made that you start thinking "Damn man..I wish I was the guy!!" ..Its a story that picturizes true love..A true innocent love which is not about lust but about care and self sacrifice for the sake of the beloved..A movie that says love is just not about winning your beloved but about keeping her happy..It tells us that just a few handful moment of love with the beloved is more than enough to keep yourself happy amongst all the sorrows and something to cherish and be happy about all through your life..The music really goes very well with the climax especially the title song "Sawaariya" and "Jab Se tere naina"..They are simply awesome..Well I can just keep going on and on about the movie so I better finish up here..Last but not the least a very well made dream love story..A must watch for everyone!!

I was really looking forward to watch this film, yet it turn out to be a total waste.Day and night happened to be the same in this film,or perhaps such love story only happens in the night time?Guess every director has their share of bad time and good time, and I am afriad this is a failure for Mr Sanjay Leela Bhansali.Comparing he was the one whom made some super hits.

For me, saawariya gets 2 points out of 5 even just to start with, everything else is just added.SImple Yet imposing! Dont walk into the theater seeking entertainment because this one surely is not what others offer . This is a pure painting made from heart to reach hearts! sure the storyline does not justify itself neither the screenplay. leaving that aside, nothing else can be considered as a flaw in this massively contrasting piece of work to other director's! Noone will ever dare to do this not even bhansali again, he might succeed in getting critical acclaim much more than this time but surely wont ever be able to present it like this.

Very very Disappointing.Didnt Expected this much disappointment.Except songs & Good looks nothing is there to watch in saawariya.Ranbir is good & Sonam is Average actress. But sonam has given nothig to perform except unnecesary lauging & crying. But she has done her part well as an actress in the first movie.songs are not fully picturised.Salman has been wasted. On the whole a very disappointing movie. Direction is the main reason.

First things first....Ranbir is a superstar He is in the nominations this year for the best actor. He has a perfect physique. His acting reminds me of Raj kapoor. Sonam is so so. Salman wasted. Rani is just perfect. ART DIRECTION deserves a fimlfare. SLB is really a magician. HE has just VANISHED the entire script.

Its high time someone informed SLB that direction involves a lot more than choosing a color scheme and hiring a set designer(Go Go Omung K...good job). SLB seems to have given up on his audience after the unfair debacle of Khamoshi. The main characters in the film should include besides the very handsome and able Ranbir and petite Sonam (tch, tch your parents, letting you debut like this!!) Rani mukherji's newly toned abs.(i kno how you feel honey, that jiggle never really disappears, does it? SLB seems to believe the only reason women Should don colour is if we were whores!(the dark innocence of BLACK and the sparkling Nandini in Hum Dil...scheming against tradition,Paro's riducule of a mother in devdas... tch tch) So while the every sprigthly Gulabjee puts on a jhatak, Sonam bores us with her whining and waiting. Beautiful songs boring visuals even more boring dialouges. The censor board could have been kinder(atleast for our sake!) and let ranbir drop that towel maybe that would have lessened the ordeal! p.s. I highly recommend SLB to add to the soundtrack some of the random comments that escaped the crowd during the screenin, it's about the only thing that kept me awake!!!

Here is an advice to the great Mr.Taran Adarsh.... try to Watch the movie from the beginnng so that he would not be faced with questions like "what and where is the place? etc". I really loved the way Saawariya flows through songs. SLB has successfully created broadway on celluloid and how..!! Really a nice movie. The songs and background score, the sets, the choreography, u name it... And above all the direction by SLB, its really different and most importantly- effective. Ranbir has excelled in a role that required a lot and so is Sonam to some extent. Both of them have a bright future ahead of them. Salman is hardly there but Rani has proved once again that she's class apart. Kudos to u Queen Mukherji.. I personally request everyone to judge the movie only after watching it. Pls don't give a damn to these so called "movie critics" whose only job is to hail biggies like SRK, YRF and KJ. For them, all Others are just a piece of crap. PLS GO AND WATCH THE MOVIE AND THEN DECIDE.
