Raajneeti is no doubt a very fine political thriller but falls short of a becoming a great movie, because of so many characters creating a type of situation where they do not leave an indelible impact on the viewer’s mind. It is definitely inspired from Mahabharata but viewers should not expect a great drama like the epic. Yes the characters have been little inspired from the original but overall they get lost somewhere in the crowd.
Prakash Jha should have made the movie more impactful by injecting some powerful scenes but rather everything happens so fast that you may loose grip of what is happening if not attentive.Film’s climax is highlight of the film but again it has been shown in a very hurried manner that it does not leave much impact. Overall the film is lovely but could have been great. The film is strictly for the matured audiences who have overall idea of politics and all. Popcorn and non serious audience should better avoid it.

------------------SPOILERS ALERT-------------------- According to the review by Indiafm.com, that movie don't have any flaws however the climax of the movie is full of flaws. During the climax when Manoj Bajpae goes to get ranbir kapoor the security is standing and asking where is boss going but does not follow him,and when Ajay Devgan call the security and ask about Manoj to that Security people reply that they don't know where Manoj went and they also says that he is not picking up his phone. But when Ajay Devgan calls Manoj he picks up the phone. Ajay tells him to wait, because he is coming, but Ajay Devgan don't call the security back to tell them to come. Then when Ranbir Kapoor shoots Manoj Bajpae, Ajay Devgan is behind Ranbir but does not shoot him, even when Ajay car crahes and ranbir and Nana follows him Ajay throws the gun away and says let me save Manoj first. Nana did have a gun in his hand only Ranbir had and why the hell Ajay throws his gun and not shoot at Ranbir and Nana. These are all big blunders by Prakash Jha and we Indians are making this crappy political thriller hit and we ignore thrillers like Karthik Calling Karthik and Manorama Six Feet Under.

None of the actors assembled on stage let him (the director) down; right from an unusually inspired Rampal to his powerful, polar opposite Bajpayee he film basically anchors its plot in two classic tales -- The Mahabharata and The Godfather -- to create an engrossing diatribe on India's political system where democracy may prevail, but not in its purest form Jha creates a real sense of the machinations and sordid deals that fuel politics but then hobbles it with outlandish twists and some decidedly ‘filmy’ moments "In the end "Raajneeti" is thrilling and gripping for the most part, even though it does lose steam in its final act. For the superb acting, and for the exciting dramatic highs, it's a film I recommend you do not miss"
