(From Thanda Ghosht) who loots kills and pleases his mistress with looted gold, his love and the dark side of their lives and how jealous and greed destroys his everything.

SONAL SEHGAL: Kulwant Kaur
A voluptuous lady, (from Thanda Ghosht) Ishar... Singh's Mistress, who is happy if he loots, kills people and gets her gold and silver but she cannot bear him having another woman in his life.

RAGHUBIR YADAV: SIRAJUDDIN
(From Khol Do) A helpless father who has lost his wife in riots in Amritsar and his young daughter gets lost on the way while running away from his Amritsar house to Lahore.

VIRENDRA SAXENA: MIYAN SAHAB
A retired judge who always helped everyone, stuck in his house with his daughter and son during riots. Miyan Sahab suffers a stroke due to stress that he is going on, and gets paralyzed...

RAINA BASSNET: SUGHRA
Miyan Sahab's daughter, who is concerned about her family and keeps insisting her father for shifting to a safe Muslim camp but father is adamant to stay at home.

RAHAT KAZMI: RAB NAWAZ
(From Aakhri Salute) A Pakistan's army officer who was in Indian army before partition but got shifted to Pakistan army right after partition because of being a Muslim, and now he is posted on hills of disputed Kashmir where he comes across his Indian enemies often and sometimes his known friends are among them which really makes him forget for sometime that who he is.

TARIQ KHAN: RAM SINGH
(From Aakhri Salute) An Indian army officer who is posted on Kashmir ranges and comes across to RAB NAWAZ. Ram Singh and Rab Nawaz used to be best friends before partition but now they are standing on opposite sides as enemies.

SAKSHI BHAT: SAKINA
(From Khol Do) Sirajuddin's daughter, lost all alone in the holocaust and how destiny play dirty to her.

Synopsis

MANTOSTAAN is a dark satire based on four controversial short stories (Khol DO, Thanda Ghosht, Assignment and Aakhri Salute) of Legendary Urdu writer Saadat Hassan Manto. Stories are set in 1947 India Pakistan partition time throwing a spotlight on most inhuman side of human beings.

Manto's Characters take you to a very dark satirical world where his characters grab your breath by portraying darkness yet innocence, gritty yet humorous at parts... MANTOSTAAN talks about the sufferings of common people and how the most beautiful creature called human being turns into the ugliest.
