Clearly, the mandate given was BIG. Big action, big babes (make that bigger babes, assuming Esha Deol and Rimmi Sen in the earlier one could be called babes) and big locations. What obviously was not mentioned was an airtight script. And so, Dhoom 2, the ultimate cops and robbers caper does not bother with a script. There are situations sure, some exciting, some mundane, but no attempt is made to make it cohesive. Aishwarya Rai and Bipasha Basu provide the va va voom factor while Abhishek Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan take care of the thrills. Goa and Mumbai are replaced by the exotic and scenic Namibia and Brazil but alas... the spontaneity and casual entertainment of the first shot in Mumbai, Goa and on the expressway are completely missing. Shooting off from the hugely successful Dhoom, Abhishek Bachchan is an Assistant Commissioner in the Mumbai Police and Uday Chopra his sidekick, a motorcycle mechanic. Bipasha Basu, from the same college batch as Abhishek and now a cop too is transferred to Mumbai. Just as you thought things might heat up between the two, Rimmi Sen, hugely pregnant is transplanted from the first film. That puts paid to romance. But desires have to be fueled and this task falls on the well toned shoulders of Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai, except that they don’t have enough chemistry between them to fill a laboratory beaker. Perhaps, that explains why Aishwarya talks non-stop while a smooch between them is in progress. Comparisons may be odious but since every sequel inherits the goodwill of its predecessor, it must be made here. Dhoom was a film you went to with no expectation only to be enthralled by the bikes, the caper and the fun. With Dhoom 2, expectations are sky high, but barring a few high octane thrills, all provided by Hrithik, you are left insatiated. Musically too, Dhoom 2 isn’t a patch on the first film. Indeed, the most interesting song continues to be Dhoom machale dhoom and with Hrithik’s fluid rendition twice, once solo and then for the end titles with Aishwarya, he easily makes it one of the more interesting aspects of the film. Neither Bipasha Basu nor Aishwarya Rai contributes much by way of storyline. While both dress minimally, Aishwarya emits thanda vibes. Bipasha looks hot and is by far the better actor. Abhishek Bachchan is hampered by the fact that his character is grim and morose most of the time and he can’t horse around. It is left to Hrithik Roshan to hold the film together which he does with a bankably efficient performance, be it as an actor while doing high octane action or dancing. He wears multiple disguises; chances are you will miss the first of them. If Sanjay Gadhvi made the heart beat faster with Dhoom, with Dhoom 2 he brings it to a stop. How could anyone go so wrong?

Dhoom-2.. well its here now.one of the most hyped and awaiyed movies of 2006.had all the reasons....now the question is did it match the expectations ..?well..i wont comment on others coz everyone has their views. for me the movie belongs to one and only HRITHIK ROSHAN...if the movie is gonna be a big hit or gonna do well..HRITHIK is the BIG REASON behind it.just watch each and every frame of the movie which has HRITHIK..simply mesmerising.he looks HOT, he looks DASHING, his body language is UNMATCHABLE... all in one to say he OVERSHADOWZ every other person in the movie completely. is that good..? well.. as far as the business of the movie goes its OBVIOUSLY encouraging..!! among others ASH is a relevation and finds good chemistry with HRITHIK...ABHISHEK, well this guy has done a decent job but not as convincing...may be coz of the CHARIZMA created by HRITHIK. ABHI finds himself helpless when compared to the body language and style of HRITHIK, in each and every FEILD.BIPASHA is ok in the initial part and does add OOMPH.. in the later part..can b said that has done a fair job.UDAY is strictly ok..nothing special. frankly speaking STORY is what the weakest part.. but the PICTURISATION is what covers that weakness.. STUNTS are path breaking and are surely the highlight of the movie...but still feel that KRRISH is by far the best in terms of ACTION. MUSIC is weak.. but i agree with TARAN ADARSH that it is njoyed most when seen with the picturisation.only song which i was really excited and was disappointed terribly was "DONT TOUCH ME..." ABHI ....boy u really need to check our body language and moves.. better u could have avoided to shake u'r legs in that song. rest other technical aspects of the movie like BACKGROUND SCORE, CINEMATOGRAPHY, CHOREAOGRAPHY, LOCATIONS AND SPECIAL EFFECTS are effective.!one thing which stans OUTSTANDING is the MAKE-UP and STYLISH...simply OUTSTANDING..! SANJAY GADHVI has done fair enough job to keep up the spirits and he should be aknowledging HRITHIK who surely is the USP of DHOOM-2 .. its HRITHIK who will surely take away all the applauds and will make people go to theaters for the second time. all in all a total popcorn flick which shouldnt be compared to HOLLYWOOD...its an INDIAN product and one can feel proud while showcasing infront of others, coz its worth getting ample praise at times..!! go DHOOM again guys... atleast 4 HRITHIK magical ROSHAN

Well to start off had a lots of hopes after reading the reviews in Indiafm.com but everything faded when I saw the movie. I think Dhoom was better and also this one is bit Glossy and Plastic. The story is not that bad though the stunts and stills look excellent then are not so logical. Dude have some respect to Physics. The action stunts look great when seen only in part but when seen with the whole sequence it just dull for me. For example when hrithik or Mr A steals the diamond, he is shown how he gets into the building but not how he is in that room with some many men guarding it and how does he leave out. There are many this is just one of them. And the final sequence when Ash shoots Hrithik,it does not click immediately that everything from with the chase was preplanned and that was a good plan. The scene just flows and you really dont give in much thought. Why do Abhi and Uday stay in Monali's (Bipasha 2) house? The pluses from the movie is the looks of the actor. Except Abhi everyone else looks great. Ash and Hrithik are outstanding and performance wise they were good. Uday is OK. Probably he is not natural at comedy but manages well. Bipasha has a role of no substance but she did the scenes well. Abhi was of less impact i guess. Overall this is a OK movie. Just for timepass. Seeing it once is more that enough.

Recreating the magic thru a sequel is always a toughie since U r carrying tons of load of expectations because U r goin’ to take the story few steps forward that already has been portrayed in a successfull manner.Rajkumar Hirani has done it with Lage Raho Munnabhai (Unanimously accepted), but against all odds even Kkrish (Biggest money-spinner of the yr) and contrary to all criticsm Phir Herapheri has done it too. So It was quite evident that Sanjay Gadhvi wud have in lot of pressure when he thought of makin’ a sequel to one of the most stylized and trend setter movie of this modern era. Did he succumbed to the pressure or came up with yet another whippy reply to the critics’ backlash. To know this...just Vroooooom: As was evident from the Promos we r in for some breath takin’ actions and few tricky heists and robberies. I must accept that I was not at all disappointed. Within our limited finances, this flick has shown some brilliant action sequences well concieved by Allan Amin that was aptly carried off by First Indian Super Hero...KkHrishik Roshan, but in far more humane way as compared to wat he has done in Kkrish. The heists and burglaries were as well coming straight from some Sidney Sheldon’s novel. But it augurs well for Bollywood since it has not been showcased in this grand way before as is shown in this one. STARs : He, undoubtedly, is the purrrfect thief since he ’ steals ’ the show by far. No body came an inch closer to him when it comes to the performance. Be it dancing, acting (which was minimal).Jumping Jacking or doin’ those astounding action scenes, this "Master of Disguise" is winner all the way. Hrithik Roshan has proved his mettle mostly in his Papa’s flicks, but believe me this one wud add one more feather in his cap. Each time he’s on screen U can’t take ur eyes away from him. Abhishek Bacchan was surely overshadowed by Hrithik as his role has no new added-dimension in the movie...same old dumb-faced cop chasing the Super-Thief that we have already seen in the Original Dhoom. His fans surely wud be disappointed. Uday Chopra, YashRaj-by-default-attachment, yet again playing perfect foil to Abhishek as a loquacious flirtous cop. He chases thief whenver he gets break from flirting and no marks for guessing that he fails in both ventures--chasing gals and thief. Though he does well within his limitation...but sometimes his comic sense sucks and makes u sick. Aishwarya in her new sexy-avtaar will certainly make u sing ’Crazy Kiya Re’. She cudn’t do justice to the character Umrao-Jaan but she, with her new perfectly-toned-body and skimpy little clothes, can easily be called new Oomph-Jaan . Bips starts off playing with bullets but ends with runnning around the beaches in different kinda bikinis as if she is doing modelling for some Lingerie or Swimsuit-Collections. MUSIC : There is no superhit number in D2 as we had in its predecessor. Thats why the chartbuster of ’04 Dhoom Macha le was used thru-out the movie in background and also in new song Dhoom Again that was made watchable by inimitable dance prowess of Hrithik, who was shaking his legs on Shiamak’s mooves n grooves, and Pritam’s foot-tapping music. Amongst rest of the songs Crazy Kiya Re and Dil laga na goes well with the feel and mood of the movie and the choreography of Vaibhavi Merchant is also gud. Rest two songs ( My name is Ali and Touch me ) were just above average. But truly, no real winner and all the songs wud be lost into oblivion once the movie wipes off the mind of the viewers. PLOT : Frankly speakin’,there was hardly any. Its just a cat(s) and mouse(mice) game concieved in more a global way than its done in D1. The Plot has many loopholes if U dig deep into it for the sheer pleasure of finding flaws in the movie but those all are well concealed by the pace and style of the movie. The second half is slow-paced as compared to the first one as emotions and romance takes precedence over usual action stuff. For bike-lovers there is climax that pays tribute to Original Dhoom. GIST : A gud entertainer with enough ingredients to make it atealst a single-time watchable. Hrithik-Ash combo rocks, Hrithik’s action packed heists thrills, Guys will go ga-ga over ash’s oomph factor and also will take inspirations from Hrithik’s Bi-Ceps(Or Tri-ceps or Quadri-ceps...I donno). If U r ineterested in Skin-show then there is Bikini-clad Bips. Special appreciation for Salim-Sulaiman for giving best-suited Background score for the movie, especially the music that runs in background each time Hrithik makes a move. For CRITICS : Those who r criticising the action of the movie and questioning the reality of those deadly scenes, must not drool over same sequences when show-cased in those Hollywood Flicks viz Matrix, Bond movies etc. When those near-impossible scenes are shown in Foreign movies we never fail 2 shower adulation over them and when it comes to our own flicks we put our thinking caps on and starts harping for logic. NOT FAIR.We r slowly but surely heading towards West, as I told U, inspite of Financial Constratints. MY VERDICT : If U want to njoy ur evening with edge-of-the-seat thriller combined with sensuousness of two sexy-lasses, then Go Dhoom , else stay in peace.

CUT THE CRAB N GIVE A BREAK The summary of review is its no way nearer to dhoom 1 or no way matches to the hype that was generated and existing.... A movie is a complete package and it should be rated accordingly. Dhoom 2 is nothing but hype. It doesn't have the substance to match the hype. KUDO'S to YASH RAJ banner and their marketing strategies coz of which they are riding on high success continuously instead of some not so great movies. I watched the movie on tuesday and with the hype created by now i expected a better movie than what it actually is... one shud blame evn Indiafm which gave 4.5 ratin for such a dull movie...i think the reviewers are even gettin carried away with the hype surrounded the movie...they shud be reviewin absolutely but not relatively or with a certain frame of mind. Everyone knows tht the movie is regular chore-police kind of thing so nothing about the greatness of the story which is expected The credit shud goto.. Abhishek (deserves on his own, hats off to him for his superb sublimed performance) Hrithik (credit goes to make up man and costume designer and also to allan amin, many others in hindi film industry can do as much as he did with the footage given to him, cooperation of technicians ) nothing special about bip's and uday let downs ASH(over acts as usual) Pritam(big let down in terms of music) atlast its a below average movie

Perfact movie for entertainment but don't think about story. I saw the movie last weekend. It is a well made movie with special effects, good looks, nice visuals, nice stunts, some comedy and very nice performances by all. But if you wana story then forget this movie. Its a Romatic action drama. Where u got first half with thrills then second half has some thrills with very nice lover story between two theifs HR and Ash. Some action scene also looking logicless but it happen in the movies. Songs are madicore axcept Creji and Dhoom again. Good background music. Nice movie to see but without thinking about story.
