Zoya Akhtar pens a sweet note for Archies gang as their first hoarding goes up the Mumbai streets!

Fans of the iconic American comics The Archies are in for a treat as director Zoya Akhtar's much-anticipated live-action musical adaptation of the beloved series is scheduled to grace screens via an OTT platform on December 7.

Titled The Archies, this cinematic rendition not only brings the comic's vibrant characters to life but also introduces a fresh ensemble of young talents to the audience. Making their debut in this project are Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, and Agastya Nanda, along with Aditi Saigal, Vedang Raina, and Mihir Ahuja. The enthusiastic Archies cast recently took to the streets of Mumbai to announce the film's official release date.

 

Celebrating this significant milestone, director Zoya Akhtar shared a heartwarming snapshot of the entire cast in front of their very first hoarding, which proudly adorned billboards. Accompanying the image was a touching note, where Zoya wrote, “Your first hoarding is up kiddos. May there be many more. May you never stop working hard and forever remain wide eyed. I wish you the world.”

 

 

The actors joined hands with Zoya Akhtar to unveil the release date through a live billboard situated on Mumbai's bustling Western Express Highway. The billboard sported a prominent countdown timer, adding an element of excitement as it diligently tracked the dwindling number of days leading up to the film's highly anticipated launch. Set at 100 days, the countdown symbolized the imminent arrival of The Archies to the screens.

 

This film marks a significant milestone for Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti's production house, Tiger Baby Productions, in the year 2023. Following the remarkable success of their previous releases, Dahaad and the sequel of Made in Heaven, the team is poised to enchant audiences once again with their unique take on The Archies.

 

As the countdown begins and the first hoarding graces the city's billboards, fans and movie enthusiasts eagerly await the chance to immerse themselves in the world of The Archies through Zoya Akhtar's cinematic vision, all set to unfold on December 7.
