Yet another Hollywood film has done good business at the box office in India. Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw did come from Fast & Furious franchise but then it was more of a spin-off, what with the biggest star of the enterprise, Vin Diesel, missing from the scene. That could well have impacted the audience footfalls in a major way but credit to the manner in which the film was marketed in India, the collections still stayed on to be good right through.

The film has collected Rs. 42.90 crores in its opening weekend which is a very good number. In fact one would have actually expected an even higher number, considering the audience word of mouth as well as critic appreciation is good. However, what the film has gathered so far is a very impressive total as well, more so since it has managed to do that even when there are other films like The Lion King and Super 30 in the running.

 

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw has weekdays ahead of it to make more moolah and that should allow a week of Rs. 65 crores at least. Post that it would be all about keeping the hold on for another week since 15th August would see the arrival of Mission Mangal and Batla House. These two Bollywood biggies with Akshay Kumar and John Abraham in the lead respectively would eat up majority of screens available at their disposal, which would little space for Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw to keep going uninterrupted.
