Box Office: Toilet – Ek Prem Katha shows a good 20% jump on Day 2, likely to collect approx. Rs. 16 cr.

 

The Akshay Kumar-Bhumi Pednekar starrer Toilet – Ek Prem Katha is expected to have a great run at the box office. The lack of completion, debacle of last week’s big release Jab Harry Met Sejal and a great word of mouth has helped the film immensely. After a not-so-great start in the morning of Friday, the film picked up substantially in the afternoon and evening. The first day collections stood at an impressive Rs. 13.20 cr.Box Office: Toilet – Ek Prem Katha shows a good 20% jump on Day 2, likely to collect approx. Rs. 16 cr.

 

It has now come to light that Toilet – Ek Prem Katha is doing well even on Saturday [Day 2] and has registered around 20-25% growth. The film’s second day collections is estimated to be around Rs. 16 cr, which will take the two-day total to close to Rs. 30 cr. While the film is decent in multiplexes, the mass centres are performing exceptionally well, probably because the film’s central idea – importance of sanitation and closed toilet - relates with them. Moreover, tax-free status in some centres has boosted collections.

 

Sunday is also expected to be huge and then there are lot of holidays lined up in the weekdays. Toilet – Ek Prem Katha is hence expected to have one of the biggest first week collections of 2017.
