Box Office: Race 3 beats Baaghi 2 becomes second highest opening week grosser of 2018

The Salman Khan starrer Race 3 released a week ago. Directed by Remo D'Souza and also featuring Anil Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah, Bobby Deol and Saqib Saleem, the film opening on a decent note. After entering the Rs. 100 cr club at the end of its opening weekend, the business of Race 3 managed to hold on Monday as well. However, Tuesday saw a dip in collections.

In this box office analysis, we take a look at the opening week collections of Race 3 while comparing the same to previous releases of 2018. Collecting Rs. 144.51 cr, Race 3 has managed to beat Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 2 that had collected Rs. 112.85 cr to become the second highest opening week grosser of 2018. Though the first week business of Race 3 does not surpass the opening week collections of Padmaavat that had collected Rs. 166.50 cr, it does surpass other releases like Raid that collected Rs. 63.05 cr, Pad Man that collected Rs. 62.87 cr, Veere Di Wedding that collected Rs. 56.96 cr, and Raazi that collected Rs. 56.59 cr.

 

As of now, with no new Bollywood release competing with Race 3 in theatres, the film is expected to see an increase in collections over its second weekend. In fact, predictions state that Race 3 might just make it past the Rs. 160 cr mark in the coming few days.
