Box Office Estimate: Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar beats predictions; headed for a Rs. 25 crore Day 1

Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar has surpassed all expectations at the box office in India. According to early estimates, the spy thriller has collected in the range of Rs. 25 crores to Rs. 27 crores on the first day, which is much more than the pre-release expectations.

Dhurandhar has performed the best in PVRInox, which also happens to be the distributor of the film in many territories. Around 45 to 50 per cent of the total business has come in from PVRInox, as compared to the usual ratio of 30 per cent. The film has collected about Rs. 17 crores from the national multilex chains, and the remaining Rs. 8 crores have come in from the single screens and non-national chains.

 

Dhurandhar needs to continue with its momentum in the days to come, as the stakes are high and they need a proper plan leading to the second part on Eid. The movie should aim for a weekend around the Rs. 100 crore mark from hereon, which is an excellent result, and the capitalize leading to the holiday period through the Christmas weekend.

 

The film is catering to an urban set of audience at this point in time, but the conflict of India v/s Pakistan could take it to a wider set over the coming few days.
