Vinay Pathak to play lead in film inspired by R.D. Burman's life

The recent spate of films that are being made seem to be remakes or films that are based (read 'inspired') on real life stories. Well, the same is the case with Eros International and Soumik Sen's next which is said to be based on the life of legendary music composer R.D.Burman.

 

The makers of the film have already registered the title R.D. with the Association of Motion Pictures and TV Programme Producers. Furthermore, the makers have roped in none other than Vinay Pathak to essay the lead role and his character's name in the film will be Rahul Dev Dutta.

The rights of the songs of R.D.Burman, are currently owned by Saregama and Universal Music, but will be purchased by Eros for the film, while Gourov Dasgupta, who worked with Eros in Chalo Dilli, will be roped in to compose the music.

 

Buzz also is that Chitrangda Singh has been approached to play leading lady of the film. As for the story line of the film, it will graph the ups and downs of the music composer's life, dwelling on all the trials and tribulations in his life.
