Kangna Ranaut to play mountaineer in Hansal Mehta directed biopic

After a much successful 2014, we hear that actress Kangna Ranaut has bagged a nomination in almost every prestigious award ceremony this year. Along with that, 2015 too seems a busy year for the actress who has many films in the pipeline.

 

Now we hear that Kangna Ranaut has been roped in to play the lead role in a biopic directed by Hansal Mehta. The filmmaker has decided to make an inspirational biopic on a woman who has climbed one of the highest peaks in the world. Excited about this, Kangna Ranaut also expressed that her desire to do a biopic is finally coming true. It has been learnt that Kangna will have to undergo extensive training to get into the skin of the character of a mountaineer. Though there are rumours about the actress playing Arunima Singh, the first female amputee to climb Mount Everest, neither the actress nor the filmmaker divulged any details on the film.

As of now, Hansal Mehta is busy with his film Aligarh, which is based on the real life affair of a gay professor and rickshaw puller. On the other hand, Kangna Ranaut is busy with the R. Madhavan starrer Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Irrfan Khan starrer Divine Lovers, Reema Kagti's Mr. Chaalu and Nikhil Advani's rom-com Katti Batti along with Imran Khan.

 

Hansal Mehta's upcoming biopic with Kangna Ranaut is slated to go on floor in September and is said to be produced by Sandeep Singh.
