YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA started with a bang in North India. The film is expected to set new records/history at several stations of Punjab, if one goes by the opening day trends. In fact, the opening day business should be at par with DABANGG at several stations here … The other circuits where the film has opened to an extremely favorable response include Delhi [single screens are very good; plexes started average, but showed better response in evening shows], Uttar Pradesh [ranges from excellent to good], Rajasthan [very good] … The response in Mumbai city-suburbs was strictly okay, with the film garnering a better start at single screens [75% +], but witnessed a low turnout at plexes [30% to 40%; picked up from evening show onwards] ... Gujarat is good and is expected to grow on Saturday due to holiday … Circuits like C.P. Berar and C.I. have opened well too. Again, the business is divided here, better at single screens, but fair to decent at plexes … The contribution from single screens has been enormous, while plexes haven't really contributed much.
The second release, TURNING 30, has opened to poor houses.
