The Advait Chandan directed film Secret Superstar released fifteen days ago in China. Starring Aamir Khan the film has been doing brisk business since its release. In fact, the business of Secret Superstar for the first week witnessed collections much in excess of Aamir’s previous release Dangal. However, post its stunning first week run, the collections of the film began to see a slight dip.
Now on its fifteenth day running Secret Superstar seems to have yet again seen a dip in collections with USD 2.80 million [Rs. 17.95 cr] coming in. if that wasn’t all, the film which has managed to withstand the competition from newer releases in the week that was now has to contend with a local film titled Till the End of the World that hit screens. Due to this new release which is a romantic action flick, Secret Superstar is now relegated to the second spot on the list.
Despite this, Secret Superstar that sees Zaira Wasim sharing screen space with Aamir Khan has managed to rake in a staggering USD 82.25 million [Rs. 527.57 cr] till date. However when compared to the fifteen day collections of Dangal that had managed to draw in USD 97.60 million [Rs. 626.03 cr] the business of Secret Superstar is far behind.
While, now the business of Secret Superstar might not be able to surpass the collections of Dangal at the China box office, since the film continues to run in theatres, predictions state that it will cross the Rs. 530 cr mark in a couple of days. However, a Rs. 600 cr target looks a little improbable with the current rate of growth.
