Honeymoon Travels… positively coming in February

Watching 'Don' was a great experience not just for the film in itself but for another reason too i.e. the promo of Excel
Films' next 'Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd' (HTPL).
With a fresh feel to the proceedings, it made for quiet an eye candy sight to see the 6 honeymooning couples in the form
of Abhay-Minisha, Boman-Shabana, Kay Kay-Raima, Amisha-Karan, Vikram-Sandhya and Dia-Ranvir. The promo caught
the eyeballs of many a film lovers and the wait begun for HTPL to release.
The film was earlier slated for release in December but with no promos on air yet, it seems unlikely that it would be case.
To know more, we quizzed debutant director Reema Kagti on the status of the film.
"Yes, the film was supposed to come in December but now has been pushed further", she says. But why? "See, HTPL is
a kind of film that needs to be handled quite carefully. It's a relatively small film produced by Ritesh and Farhan and
hence has to be strategically placed in the market", she says honestly.
So when does the film eventually hit the marquee? "We are bringing it on in the month of February for sure, not further to
that by any means", she discloses. February? Isn't it already a crowded month with at least 6 major releases in the form of
'Traffic Signal', 'Eklavya - The Royal Guard', 'Namastey London', 'Shakalaka Boom Boom', 'Cash' and 'Metro'?
Won't it be better in that case to wait for a few more weeks and let February followed by World Cup cricket pass by?
"No, we are sure that the film will indeed come in February", she says confidently, "No more delays after that. Farhan and
Ritesh know what they are doing and we have the plans chalked out. Yes, it is a film belonging to different genre in itself
but it sure would make its presence felt".
So when does the film's promotion begin? "By January you would see the film's promotion catching up on heat in a big
way. Also check out for songs by Vishal and Shekhar which gel so very well with the film's theme. Just wait and watch!"
