Amitabh to release Sameer's biography

Amitabh Bachchan will release lyricist Sameer’s biography on 28th October at a glittering function being planned at Bhaidas Hall in Mumbai. The day also happens to be Sameer’s father, lyricist [late] Anjaan’s 75th birth anniversary. This year was also significant for Sameer as he completed 25 years as lyrics writer and has already crossed 500 films as lyricist.
The biography is titled ‘Sameer – A Way With Words’ and is authored by eminent writer Derek Bose. The function will be attended by leading film stars and personalities, including producers, directors, music composers and singers who have collaborated with Sameer over the past quarter-century.
A three-hour musical program showcasing Sameer’s repertoire in various genres of film music will be presented on the occasion. Prominent playback artistes and Sa Re Ga Ma winners, such as Bela Shende and Abhijeet Ghoshal, will render the songs on stage in the presence of a live audience and all dignitaries.
A double CD pack of hit songs portraying the versatility and lyrical range of Sameer’s work will also be released on the occasion. Over the past 25 years, Sameer has penned the lyrics of a record 500 plus films, besides songs for scores of non-film albums.
