Akbar Khan announces his forthcoming film Taxi Driver Click here to add this article to My Clips

By IndiaFM News Bureau, October 14, 2006 - 09:43 IST

After dealing with the historical film Taj Mahal, Akbar Khan ventures into the contemporary arena this time. He has started work on his next film which he wants to title Taxi Driver. But since the rights of the title are with Dev Anand who starred in a classic film by the same name, he intends to request the veteran actor for the copy rights of the title.

Speaking about the same Khan says, “This is a tentative title as I have speak to Dev saab regarding the copyrights of this title. I thought of it because it’s going well with the script of my film. Taxi Driver is a thriller film and also showcases family relationships.”

Ask him more on Taxi Driver and he says, “I am done with the script and other important details except the star cast. I am in the process of finalizing that. I am planning to finish this film in a quick time period of three months. I will start in December so that I could release this film in summer vacations. I will be shooting it in UK and South Africa”.

But wasn’t he supposed to start with another mega historical Changez Khan post Taj Mahal? “It is true that I had announced Changez Khan before this film but nothing has been finalized on it except the script. CZ will surely be a big budget historical film with ensemble star cast. I will start that film after Taxi Driver.
