Soon after, the Chief Minister, flanked by the film’s cast, cut the ribbon and released the album. In his brief speech, the C.M. said he’d like to congratulate the film’s team for capturing on screen the poignant tale of Waaris Shah. “From the few glimpses of the film, I can tell the essence of the saga has been well-captured. The film sounds like a must-see for today’s youngsters because of the slice of Punjabi history and culture,” he said.
At the end of the function, the C.M. announced tax exemption for the film in the entire state, which was received by a rousing round of applause.
