No Ban on Omkara

A small time Hindi film actor Naseem Khan had filed a plea seeking an immediate ban of Vishal Bharadwaj’s Omkara few days back. However, a session’s court in Mumbai has refused to ban Omkara. The court though has asked director Vishal Bharadwaj to file an affidavit by September 14 when the matter would be heard. The court has posted the matter for arguments on that day.
Naseem says that he saw Omkara on August 17 and was surprised to see the film get a censor board’s approval. The reason for his dismay was the “vulgar” dialogues in the film. He says in the petition that the first shot of the film, which is immediately preceded by the national anthem, itself contains "vulgar" dialogues. The petition also takes objection to the word ‘Om’ in the title Omkara. Khan hopes that the producers will be asked to change the title.
