Now ‘Shiva’ in Tamil, Telugu Click here to add this article to My Clips

By Taran Adarsh, August 29, 2006 - 09:00 IST

It’s slowly becoming a trend to dub a much-anticipated Hindi film in regional languages. Rakesh Roshan’s KRRISH was dubbed in Tamil and Telugu languages and released along with the Hindi version at one go. Now Ramgopal Varma is planning to release SHIVA in three languages on September 15: Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. “You reach out to a wider audience simultaneously. Besides, if you think your film has potential and may work in regional sectors, dubbing helps,” RGV tells me, “This is the real reason why the film was shifted from August to September.”

Meanwhile, RGV has clarified that the new SHIVA is different from the one he made more than a decade ago with Nagarjuna. “That was set in a college campus, this one is in a police station,” he states.
