‘Hat Trick’ is about cricket

Okay, we have read quite a few P.R.-laden articles on Milan Luthria’s new film HAT TRICK. We also know that Luthria’s film will be produced by UTV Motion Pictures and star Naseeruddin Shah, Nana Patekar, Paresh Rawal, Hema Malini and Kunal Kapoor [RANG DE BASANTI] in pivotal roles.
But here’s some vital info on the film that’s an IndiaFM exclusive…
HAT TRICK is a story of the triumph of the human spirit. It deals with different stories of life, each of which reach a crescendo, and each of which needs the protagonist to pull out a magic trick from the hat… something they have never done before, something that must be done now, in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.
HAT TRICK has an element of cricket running through it and will be released a month before the I.C.C. Cricket World Cup. The film will go on floors in September this year and will be released in February 2007.
“Ronnie Screwvala [of UTV] and I have had a fruitful association during TAXI NO. 9211, which was distributed by UTV worldwide,” Milan divulges, “In fact, even before TAXI started, we were toying with the idea of doing a film together. The talks crystallized when we spent time on the international promotions of TAXI.”
