Shooting a film in Afghanistan is definitely not an easy task and filmmaker Kabir Khan did have a tough time doing so for Kabul Express. The cast and crew kept getting threats from Taliban which created a tensed atmosphere. Even though they got 60 armed guards for security, the fear remained. Then John Abraham got affected with viral fever. Finally, Bipasha Basu who was apprehensive after John’s illness insisted on completing the film in Bhuj.
Reportedly, John would get brochures of various travel destinations which would be better locations to shoot the film. He even got Morocco brochure which seemed to be the closest match to shoot the film. But finally, they ended up shooting at Bhuj. Kabul Express is the film about director Kabir Khan’s experience of shooting a documentary film in Taliban land and is expected to release by September.
