Wednesday evening, rumor that Vishal Bhardwaj’s OMKARA has been postponed from July 28 to August 4 spread like wild fire within the industry. The reason for the postponement was attributed to the fact that the pre-release promotion wouldn’t be too aggressive by July 28, hence the postponement by one week.
But Sunil Lulla of Eros denies the development outright. “OMKARA is definitely arriving on July 28. There’s no postponement at all. The music launch couldn’t take place on Wednesday, July 4 due to bad weather [torrential rains in Mumbai], perhaps that may’ve sent out wrong signals,” he states, continuing in the same breath, “But we are confident of the film. And that’s all that matters.” Point noted!
While on release dates, distributor-producer Tolu Bajaj’s NAKSHA has been shifted from August 25 to September 8. “With LAGE RAHO MUNNABHAI slated for release on September 1, Sachin [Tolu’s son, who’s directing NAKSHA] felt that it would be wise to shift NAKSHA to September 8, one week after MUNNABHAI,” Tolu reveals.
Meanwhile, Ratan Jain, the producer of AAP KI KHATIR [directed by Dharmesh Darshan], tells me that the film is not arriving on September 8. “At the moment, it’s August that we are looking at. But the exact date will be finalized in a few days from now.”
