Murli Sharma in Hollywood production Rockin Meera

Actor Murli Sharma who was seen in films like Maqbool, Main Hoon Na and Apaharan is mighty excited these days. He has just completed shooting for a Hollywood production Rockin Meera. Directed by U.S based Param Gill, Murli plays brother to the lead actress of the film, Nauheed Cyrusi. “My character is of Prem, a software engineer in America. Like any brother, he loves his sister a lot and is very protective about her", speaks Murli about his character in the film. “It's a very well written script."
Meanwhile he is also eagerly looking forward to the release of his another international film The Mem Sahib directed by Kruti Mazumdar, which interestingly travels from the year 1850 to the present. He plays the character of a Raja in the film, Raja Kishor Singh. "The character I play is of a king from a neighboring state and its shot in the Royal Palaces of Rajkot. It was a great experience."
Currently he is working on Sudhanshu Jha's Eik Dastak which is a realistic film and revolves around the lives of a few income-tax officers. “The film has real characters, real situations and so the drama is real. We just have about 4 days of work left", he explains.
So what about television? "Well I am doing a judicial series for Satyajit Bhatkal who made Chale Chalo, the documentary film on Lagaan that made a theatrical release. I am waiting for that to come on air. Don't want to talk about it now. Basically good is what I am looking for. Be it films or television, I want to do work which allows me to do something new. It definitely takes me a step further every time", says Murli Sharma.
