‘Vivah’ not in Diwali

There was speculation that Sooraj R. Barjatya’s VIVAH is scheduled for Diwali 2006 release, but its all hearsay. The fact is that the Barjatyas have set their sights at releasing their new film after Diwali.

In an exclusive conversation with this writer, Rajat Barjatya confirmed the development. “We were planning to release VIVAH in the Idd week, but with too many films slated for release in October, we are currently looking at October 27/November 3 release. It doesn’t make sense to release the film amidst so many oppositions and eat into each other’s business,” says the enterprising producer and Sooraj’s cousin.

What’s the current status? “VIVAH is already three-fourths [75%] complete. The film is currently being shot in Delhi, which will be followed by another schedule in Mumbai in June. By June last week, we should be through with the principal shooting, after which the post-production and promotion will take another three/four months,” reveals Rajat.
