‘Salaam-E-Ishq’ not in Diwali race

Nikhil Advani’s second venture SALAAM-E-ISHQ, which was slated for Diwali 2006 release, will not make it on October 20 now. Don’t look for controversies here, since the reason of postponement is because the producers want to promote the film to the optimum and also avoid clashing with the other biggies.
“We should be through with the shooting of SALAAM-E-ISHQ by August 11,” producer Sunil Manchanda reveals, “Although we are editing the film simultaneously, we don’t want to hurry with the post-production work and promotion. Also, there’s no point releasing the film alongside two or three big films in the same week. Why cut into each other’s business?”
Director Nikhil Advani feels that there ought to be a substantial gap between two Salman Khan starrers. “With JAANEMANN slated for release on August 25, we don’t want to cut too close, in October. SALAAM-E-ISHQ is definitely releasing in 2006, but not in Diwali,” he confirms.
