Ram Gopal Varma and Shashilal Nair inspired by same Lolita Syndrome

It seems there is dearth of stories in Bollywood as several filmmakers are working on the same story lines. Ek Chotisi Love Story fame director K Shashilal Nair and Ram Gopal Varma are working differently on a same story line. Last week when Ram Gopal Verma announced his movie Nishabd starring Amitabh Bachchan in lead, Shashilal Nair claimed that he is already working on a film called Lolita which has the same Lolita syndrome.
According to Shashilal Nair actor Jackie Shroff plays an elderly man and a new actress Pallavi plays the main protagonist in his film. He explained that Lolita is an intense love story talking about the plight of a man trapped in a hopeless romance. He informed that he has been shooting for a week now. Ram Gopal Varma’s project is much bigger at a budget of Rs. 20 crore while Nair’s project is one-tenth its budget at around Rs. 2 crore.
However Ram Gopal Varma confirmed that he spoke to K Shashilal Nair and came to know about his film. He also added that any film about an older man and a young girl is bound to resemble the Lolita story. So Varma doesn’t seem to be much bothered about another film being made on the same theme.
