Rang De Basanti in trouble again!

It seems that the release of Rang De Basanti is jinxed! Just yesterday, the makers breathed a sigh of relief as the film was cleared by the IAF after a special screening. It has been barely twenty four hours and the film is in a soup again! This time it is animal activist and Lok Sabha MP Maneka Gandhi who is causing trouble. She has accused the makers of not taking the necessary permission from the Animal Welfare Board of India before filming animals in the movie. A notice has been sent to the Censor Board by the AWBI, asking them to halt the release of the film.
However, representatives at UTV, the producers state that they have already applied to the AWBI for the necessary certification and will get it by next week. Some other films that have come under the AWBI’s scanner for unauthorized use of animals, in the recent past include Paheli and Taj Mahal.
